Think of tomorrow’s new sun

The last couple of weeks have been emotionally intense for me and for thousands of people related, directly or indirectly, to Chile. Chile is my home and Identity, and it hasn’t been easy to handle my emotions regarding last week’s earthquake and tsunami, and the devastation they caused in the entire country, especially in a region I love so much: Concepción, Talcahuano, San Pedro,, Lota, Los Ángeles and the entire VIII Region.

As a tribute to those who lost everything, and especially to those who lost someone in the earthquake, I composed a song called “Tomorrow’s new sun,” which I’ve partially recorded and uploaded to my Facebook music page. These are the lyrics of the song, followed by a rough translation to Spanish (I’ve added the Soundcloud Player so that you may listen to it as you read the lyrics):

Las últimas semanas han sido para mi bastante intensas emocionalmente, y para miles de otras personas relacionadas con Chile directa o indirectamente. Chile es mi hogar e identidad, y no ha sido fácil manejar mis emociones en cuanto al terremoto y tsunami de la semana pasada, y en cuanto a la devastación que causaron en todo el país, especialmente en un área que amo tanto: Concepción, Talcahuano, San Pedro, Lota, Los Ángeles, y la 8va Región por completo.

Como tributo a aquellos que perdieron todo, y especialmente aquellos que perdieron a alguien en el terremoto, compuse la canción llamada “Tomorrow’s new sun” (“El nuevo sol de mañana”), que he grabado parcialmente y subido a mi página de música de Facebook. Ésta es la letra de la canción, traducida libremente ya que el original lo hice en inglés:
